The flow control valve has a valve setting member (4) movable axially in a valve casing (1, 2, 3). This member is a control tube with an axial through passage (D). One end (4a) of the tube acts with a valve seat (8) to close and open the flow control valve. The axial position of the control tube can be set hydraulically or pneumatically.
