Welding metallic work material with inductive preheating has conventional welding tools like arc welders or roller electrodes coupled with inductor(s) with inductor power of 15 to 30 kW
Welding metallic work material with an inductive preheating is described. Conventional welding tools like arc welders or roller electrodes are coupled with one or more inductors. In accordance with the work material to be joined with regards to its electrical and thermal conductivity as well as its thickness, an inductor power of about 15 to 30 kW is held up and worked in a medium frequency range of the frequency converter used of about 9 to 23 kHz. The respective inductor used for the partial preheating is matched specially with butt welding, seam welding, build-up welding or overlap welding.
