The packing head for gripping the top of a bottle comprises a flexible cup (5) attached to a piston (2) at its top, both components being enclosed in a cylindrical housing (1). The walls of the cup contain cavities (5e). When the piston is lowered they are compresses inwards to grip the bottle.
