Three-pole thermal switch has housing for contact bridge and two mechanically biased contact springs fixed on contact bridge by solder fuse that melts if threshold temperature exceeded
The switch has a housing (2) for a contact bridge (4A) and two mechanically biased contact springs (6,7) fixed on the contact bridge by a solder fuse (8) that melts if a threshold temperature is exceeded. The contact springs are pivoted away by the mechanical bias to open the electrical contact. The housing has two halves (2A,2B) that are joined by a latching device. Independent claims are also included for the following: a use of the switch to protect temperature-sensitive components.
