The stimulated Brillouin stray type (SBS) phase conjugator is used to improve the radiation quality. It can be incorporated in a glass fibre laser system. The fibre phase conjugator is environment friendly and safe, as compared to types using high pressure liq. or gas. The conjugator comprises a high reflection rate, while the stable SBS process is mirrored in the glass fibres with high fidelity. The conjugator is not destroyed by high laser densities, due to low absorption of glass.
