FIELD: mass- transfer checked columns. SUBSTANCE: specific surface of packing has angle ϕ of inclination of channels. It belongs to class (c1) at Ca = ac1 and ϕ = ϕc1 according to the following data: similar flows of liquids are preset for liquids flowing through packing; number "n" of theoretical stages of separation per meter is determined empirically, viz.: NTSM magnitude appears in form of first function f1(a,ϕ) of the variables "a" and ϕ; hydraulic resistance arising for gas flow running through packing is characterized by loss of pressure per meter, &Dgr;p as second function f2(a,ϕ); magnitude &Dgr;p has relative minimum at additional condition n=const when variable "a" and ϕ appear in form of magnitudes am(n) and ϕm(n) depending on magnitude "n"; conditions n 4,5 acl am(n), ϕc1 ϕm(n), as well as ϕc1 45° are true.
