The present invention relates to a rosette pattern applied image index and a search method for improving search efficiency and search performance, the method comprising: defining a rosette pattern according to a size of a target image from which information is to be extracted; (B) extracting information of the target image by the rosette pattern defined in step (a); (C) storing the image information extracted in the step (b) in a memory; (D) repeating steps (a) to (b) for the query image when the user provides the query image for information retrieval; And (e) performing a search by calculating a similarity degree between the information stored in the step (c) and the information of the query image extracted in the step (d).;According to the method of the present invention, there is an advantage that the information of the image can be effectively stored and retrieved with a small number of pixels using the rosette scanning pattern. In addition, the search efficiency is higher than that of the conventional histogram distribution method, and since the number of pixels is used, the memory space required for the index can be greatly reduced.
