PURPOSE: A catalytic CVD method is provided to cover pyrolytic carbon having superior biocompatibility, internal adaptability, adhesion and buffering characteristics for SiC deposition at low temperature of 600 to 650 deg.C where mechanical properties of a matrix are not damaged on a stent made of stainless steel 316L for coronary angioplasty. CONSTITUTION: The catalytic CVD method comprises the processes of depositing normal pyrolytic carbon or diamond-like pyrolytic carbon on a stent made of STS 316L for coronary angioplasty to a maximum deposition rate of 73 nm/sec and depositing SiC on the normal pyrolytic carbon or diamond-like pyrolytic carbon deposited on the stent made of STS 316L for coronary angioplasty at 600 deg.C under the conditions that a ratio of a matrix to a reactor volume is 1:8 to 20, a partial pressure ratio of methane to hydrogen is PCH4:PH2=5:1 to 0.05, a feed gas partial pressure ratio is PCH4:PH2:PAr=0.50 to 60:0.10 to 12:0.40 to 0.28, a temperature is 590 to 650 deg.C, and a pressure is 90 to 101 kPa.
