PURPOSE: A method of automating 3-dimensional space information construction of a solid type using 2-dimensional space information is provided to use a compression/division system for automatically generating each object as 3-dimensional solid-model types by using a 2-dimensional GIS(Geographic Information System) DB and for managing various data, thereby constructing a wide range of 3-dimensional GIS data. CONSTITUTION: Coordinates values of each unit object are extracted by using an inputted 2-dimensional GIS DB. A triangulation is performed to enable a 3-dimensional expression. A 3-dimensional solid model generated after the triangulation is re-processed in the similar type to an actual object by mapping an image photographed by a digital camera on each side. Processed side-unit data is compressed to integrate sides having the same images, colors, and direction vectors, to enable a real time rendering. A 3-dimensional space DB is sorted out by a space partition method for dividing a unit space into 8 equal parts. The sorted 3-dimensional space DB is stored to reconstruct a space DB for improving a retrieval speed.
