PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for monitoring the study state of children through the internet are provided for a parent to get the moving pictures or sound of the study state of the children in real time by detecting the current position of the children from a class schedule table, and to communicate smoothly with an education institution by easily exchanging messages between both. CONSTITUTION: The parent accesses a main server through the internet and takes the log-in procedures through a member DB(S2). The main server transfers the initial screen containing the function menu of every child to a terminal(S4). The main server checks if the parent selects the current class menu of their child or not(S5). If the current class menu is selected, the main server detects the current class position of the child by using the position data of every time(S6). The main server transfers the moving pictures and sound that the study state of the child is recorded to the terminal. So, the parent checks the study state of their child in real time(S8). The main server stores every compression file concerned about the moving pictures and sound to a moving picture DB in every child and date(S10). The main server checks if the parent selects the previous class menu of their child or not(S12). If the previous class menu is selected, the main server gets the search date from the terminal. The main server calls the compression file of the image/sound data corresponding to the search date(S14). The main server outputs the moving pictures corresponding to the search date to the terminal(S16).
