PURPOSE: A method and system for billing contents are provided to use charged information without providing personal information of a user to an individual contents providing service system, and offer the contents with good quality by performing billing using a billing vicarious execution service server. CONSTITUTION: A billing vicarious execution manager module transmits billing information. A billing proxy is driven by the billing vicarious execution manager module, and transmits an authentication token and a record for billing to a contents providing server. A proxy recovery module is installed in a client system for performing recovery in case that a billing manager is abnormally ended. An authentication module checks the authentication token transmitted from the billing proxy. A use time record module is installed in the contents providing server for recording a use time of a charged contents. A user authentication module generates an authentication key for performing a user authentication for using the charged contents of the contents providing server. A use time record module is installed in a billing vicarious execution service server for recording the use time of the charged contents of an authenticated user.
