5 nm to 100 nm, obtained by mechanical alloying with steel balls under high pressure hydrogen, using high purity magnesium and nickel chips in the form of a continuous flow or shear type of 0.01 mm to 100 mm in size according to the invention Mg 2 NiHx hydrogen storage alloys having a nanostructure grain of size and an amorphous composite microstructure, and a method for preparing the same, are provided.;Also provided is a steel high pressure reactor equipped with a needle valve and a pressure gauge for use in the production method.;According to the present invention, it is possible to produce a hydrogen storage alloy having excellent hydrogenation characteristics and a light weight by a simplified process at a lower production price than in the conventional method.
