PURPOSE: An extract of safflower seed extracted using distilled water or ethanol is provided which shows enhanced healing rate of a bone fracture and reduced restoring time when fed to Sprague-Dawley. In particular it continuously stimulates bone remodelling during bone restoration process. CONSTITUTION: Carthamus Tinctorius L. is ground, extracted with distilled water and then filtered with a filter paper under reduced pressure. The residue is reextracted with distilled water and then freeze-dried after concentrating under reduced pressure to remove the solvent. The safflower seed extract can be used in food industries for bone fracture healing, osteoporosis preventing and bone strengthening.
