A console latch (10) for securing a first console closure panel to a first compartment bin and for securing the first compartment bin to a second compartment bin, the latch including a housing (11) and a double pawl member (13) with pawl latching elements (14, 15) on each end thereof, and an actuation button (12) for actuating the latch, a locking member (90) being carried on the housing and selectively positionable between a first position which permits actuation of the pawl and a second position which prevents actuation of the pawl. The actuating member including a living spring element (120, 121) which returns the member to its original position after it has been depressed for actuation, and the double pawl member including a spring feature.
