The invention relates to an improved method for the conception and registration of industrial property rights applications involving the following steps: Compiling and storing fees and payments; compiling the application requirements, and; compiling information regarding protection possibilities in a designated state. This method which up to now was, to a great extent, manually conducted is disadvantageous due to the fact that it is often unclear to the layman. In order to avoid this, the novel method comprises the following steps: an input mask for selecting the type of property law and the desired states is displayed on at least one computer connected to the data processing network; a software displays the costs upon selection of a designated state, whereby the software takes national or regional property laws into account, and; after verification and, perhaps, manual adjustment, the user confirms the proposition by giving consent to the software.
