How to avert precipitation catastrophes at extreme rainfall flows i n river systems where such catastrophes occur frequently and instead exploit these rainfall flows in existing hydropower stations for environmentally friendly energy production
A dam contains electrolysis plants for producing hydrogen and oxygen, which are powered by hydroelectric turbines, and these gases are compressed (preferably to 200 bar) and stored in tanks at the dam. The gases can be used to power cars, aircraft, fuel cells or gas power stations.
