The feed-in device for a bale press for bio-mass such as straw comprises an upright storage chute (10) with an upper entry aperture (11) and lower outlet aperture (12). At least one slide is formed in one of the chute walls, which extends in the direection from the inlet aperture to the outlet aperture. - At least one drive prong runs in and out of the chute via the slide. A feed mechanism (13) activates the prong in cyclic movements via an upper and lower position in the chute and a lower and upper position outside the chute.
