PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for raising seedling capable of allowing seedling to grow into an adequate size for pot planting, improving fruitage efficiency by making grafting sure and obtaining cherries of good quality. SOLUTION: A stock of Cerasus avium is planted in a pot and raised only in it. A two-year branch 30 of Cerasus avium raised outside and having leaf buds of one bud to five buds is grafted to the above stock of Cerasus avium. This is raised in a state of pot planting to obtain a seedling for ground planting or pot planting. When the two-year branch is grafted on the stock 20, the stock is warmed in advance in a greenhouse, then it is grafted at an earlier time than that of grafting using a stock raised outside, and subsequently the grafted seeding is raised outside in a state of pot planting.
