PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable quality data supply system or the like for supplying contents of less complexity while by the quality of the contents.;SOLUTION: A data output unit 1 generates a signal for representing the spectrum of a PCM signal to be encrypted, encodes the signal for representing the spectrum component in a band obtained by dividing the spectrum by using an encryption key prepared according to the band, and serially outputs the data obtained by the encoding. A data reproducer 2 distributes the data output from the unit 1 to the respective bands belonging to the spectrum components represented by the data, and decodes the data by using the decoding key prepared according to the band. A PCM signal having the spectrum represented by the signal obtained by the decoding is generated. The spectrum component of the band not prepared for the decoding key is handled as not existing.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
