PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the thrust of a motor and reduce eddy-current loss for the enhancement of motor efficiency by reducing air gaps.;SOLUTION: The magnet-movable linear motor is formed by movably placing permanent magnets 22 at prescribed air gaps in a laminated stator core, having excitation coils 20 wound thereon. The permanent magnets 22, having for example, substantially projection-shaped cross sections, are fit into a plurality of mounting holes 28 formed in a closed-end cylindrical magnet-holding body 24, made of synthetic resin, with one end thereof open. Further by having nonmagnetic metal plates 30 secured with screws, adhesive, or the like outside the magnet-holding body 24 the permanent magnets 22 are supported by sandwiching them between the metal plates and the magnet holding body 24.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
