PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for accelerating the solution of a linear matrix equation resulting from a mesh calculation.;SOLUTION: The accelerator is used as a library that is externally connected to an analyzer/solver for solving a linear matrix equation based on mesh generated by a mesh generator. The accelerator receives the fine mesh of an N×N linear matrix equation and calculates optimum rough mesh on the basis of the fine mesh. N is defined as the number of nodes in the fine mesh here. The rough mesh is set to the analyzer/solver. The analyzer/solver solves the M×M linear matrix equation of the rough mesh which is equal to the N×N linear matrix equation. The accelerator receives the first solution of the M×M linear matrix equation. The accelerator next calculates a 2nd solution of the N×N linear matrix equation about a point of the rough mesh by using a solution gradient and the optimum estimate of a Hesse determinant.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
