PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing method for a circulation-type water tank system which method is extremely harmless to for the human body and damage-less to the system and capable of removing effectively a biofilm or the like where Legionella pneumophila and so on inhabit, and to provide a detergent composition used for the said method.;SOLUTION: The washing method for a circulation-type water tank system comprises at least one circulation of a water or hot water containing a quaternary ammonium salt and 2-phenoxyethanol in the total sum concentration of 150 to 5,000 ppm and then discharge of the water; the detergent composition for a circulation-type water tank system, contains a quaternary ammonium salt, 2-phenoxyethanol and an alcohol to dissolve the quaternary ammonium salt and 2-phenoxyethanol.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
