PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an execution method for first replacing an oil buried gas pipe 3 of a public road side by a first new buried gas pipe 11 in the case where the replacement work for the public road side and the private land can't be executed at the same time when a metallic oil buried gas pipe 3 buried extending from the public road A side and the private land B side is worn out, and the oil buried gas pipe 3 is replaced by a first new gas pipe 11 made of resin, whereby in replacing the oil buried gas pipe 3 of the private land side later on, it will be sufficient to excavate only the private land, and it is not necessary to again excavate the public road side.;SOLUTION: In replacing only the oil buried gas pipe 3 of the public road side with a first new buried gas pipe 11, a part on the public road side of the oil buried gas pipe 3 is cut and removed to be replaced by the first new buried gas pipe 11. At this time, the first new buried gas pipe 11 to be used has an outside diameter smaller than the inside diameter of the old buried gas pipe 3, and the tip part 11a of the first new buried gas pipe 11 is inserted from the cut end part of the oil buried gas pipe 3 left in the ground into the pipe 3 to a depth under the private land.
