PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multiple optical axis photoelectric sensor miniaturized and capable of automatically setting the number of flood lights and receiving elements to be driven.;SOLUTION: A multiple optical axis photoelectric sensor 1 is composed of a flood light device 2 provided with plural LED 7a-7h as flood light elements and a light receiving device 21 provided with plural photodiodes 26a-26h as light receiving elements. In the flood light device 2, the LED 7a-7h are successively emitted and on the basis of counting of flood light signals outputted from a current detecting circuit 8 as a flood light detecting means, the number of LED to be driven is set. In the flood light device 2, the LED 7a-7h are emitted just for the number to be driven and in such a case, on the basis of counting of light receiving signals received by photodiodes 26a-26h, the number of photodiodes to be driven is set.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
