PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-transmission system which enable a user to download music contents owned by the user at home to a portable terminal player carried by the user from the outside.;SOLUTION: The contents self-transmission system 20 is provided with a contents reproducing device 1 at home, a transmitting device 4 connected through a computer link line 12 to the contents reproducing device 1 for reproduction control, and for compressing reproduced digital data D1, and for outputting the compressed digital data D1 as transmission data D2, a line terminal 7 such as a portable telephone connected to the transmitting device 4, and linked to a public telephone line network 8, and a portable terminal player 9 carried by a user who is present outside, and equipped with a function for downloading the contents linked to the public telephone line network 8 to a memory card 11, and for reproducing the contents. Thus, the user can control the contents reproducing device 1 at home from a place where the user is so that the contents of a CD or the like mounted on the contents reproducing device 1 can be reproduced and compressed, and downloaded through the public telephone line network 8 to the memory card 11 of the portable terminal player 9.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
