PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To connect a multi-conductor fiber to an optical waveguide circuit with a non-adjusted core. ;SOLUTION: Plural V-grooves 14a are formed on a V-groove substrate 14 and dummy fiber V-grooves 16 and 17 are formed at the both ends of the V- grooves 14a. The V-grooves 16 and 17 are shallow compared with the V-grooves 14a. Dummy fibers 18 and 19 are putted into the V-grooves 16 and 17 and they are fixed with adhesive by using a pressing board 15. A space between the pressing board 15 and the V-grooves 14a becomes a connection fiber insertion port 20, and the connected optical fiber is inserted into the connection fiber insertion port 20 so as to execute connection.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
