The device (1) has a stent (4) in two sections, one of them (4a), preferably approximately two thirds of the total length of the stent, firmly adhered to the balloon (3), and the other (4b), preferably corresponding to one third and the final part of the total length of the stent, not being adhered to the balloon (3), and further being partially expanded, before its use, such that the proximal extreme of a metallic wire (5) may be passed through the mesh of section (4b), the metallic wire (5) having been previously introduced into a secondary branch (R) that originated in the artery (A) and was caused by the obstructive ateriosclerotic process to be treated, or, in the case of lesions located in arterial bifurcations, in one of the branches involved. This wire provides an access to the branch, in the case where its ostium (0) suffers a reduction or a total obstruction of its calibre. Consequently, the wire acts as an element for bearing a second balloon or even a second stent for the relief of any obstruction of the ostium.
