The vessel carries two fixed antenna. Distances of each antenna from each of a group of satellites is measured and differences give the components of the antenna spacing. Components on the same axes for an assumed relative antenna position are calculated and differences to the measured components correct the assumed position. The method is refined by using the known antenna spacing to select a best result from a group of corrected positions. An Independent claim is made for an equipment which uses the satellite method for finding an orientation
