Cycle automatic reduction gear comprises chain wound on six satellites mounted on six toothed sectors pivoted on two discs, relative rotation of gears and discs limited by torsion spring
A chain or belt (7) is wound on six satellites (1) mounted on six toothed sectors (2) pivoted (3) to two discs (0,0'). Gearing (5) is mounted on the same axis as the discs. The relative rotation of the gears with the discs is limited by the compression of a torsion spring. The toothed sectors mesh with the gears. When the torque on the input shaft (11) increases, deformation of the spring increases and creates a relative rotation between the gears and the discs. Rotation of the gears rotates the toothed sectors around their pivot and causes the satellites and the winding diameter of the chain to fall.
