Generic model of cylinder head is generated based on input CAD data and changed. Surface interconnection and volume grid of cylinder head are determined and fluid flow through inlet port of cylinder head is simulated automatically, with respect to changed geometry of cylinder head, to measure fluid flow rate. Measured fluid flow rate is inspected to detect whether it is stable or satisfies preset conditions. The CAD data are input via a graphical user interface, based on which generic model of cylinder head describing fundamental geometry of cylinder head and that of inlet port, valves is generated.
