Position sensor used in galvanomagnetic detection of rotating shaft position, has galvanomagnetic sensor unit that delivers periodically changing voltage signals with predetermined phase gap
The position sensor has a galvanomagnetic sensor unit (22) that delivers periodically changing voltage signals if a shaft (12) rotates relative to the galvanomagnetic sensor unit. The voltage signals have predetermined phase gap to indicate the rotating position of the shaft. The shaft has magnetic irregularities (18,20) arranged on forepart areas (14). A surface plane defines the forepart area vertically to the center line (28) of the shaft which is aligned with the galvanomagnetic sensor. The galvanomagnetic sensor, which covers a predetermined area, is arranged on the surface plane next to the fore-part area in parallel orientation. The galvanomagnetic sensor has tart-segment-shaped galvanomagnetic sensor components (23) and circuit for delivering the voltage signals indicating the rotation position of the magnetic irregularities. An Independent claim is also included for the galvanomagnetic chip for the position sensor.
