A pair of adaptive low-pass filters (32) fit in two audio doubler channels for suppressing background noises in audio doubler data. Low-pass filtering can be performed in a frequency range, i.e. before an IFFT operation (24), or in a time range, i.e. after an IFFT operation. Maximum frequency tracking (18) can be fed to a filter selection block (30) that prescribes filter limits in the low-pass filters.
