The motor vehicle's drive train includes a variable speed gear with driving and driven toroidal discs, and a planetary gear with sun wheels and planet wheels. A second planet wheel(37) which is moved by or with the first planet wheel(36) in the planetary gear has a diameter which is such that for a stepping up of the variable speed gear in an operating point of the latter the contact point of the second planet wheel with a driven element(40) of the planetary gear corresponds to the instantaneous center of rotation of the second planet wheel.
