A cooking plate for a cooking system transmitting contact heat is described. The surface microstructure is rounded off microscopically in the region of profiled points, especially in the region of groove combs and/or pore edges. The shape deviation from a preferably flat ideal surface over a predominant part of the cooking region (11), especially over the whole cooking region, comes to less than 0.1 millimetres, especially less than 0.05 millimetres. The smallest shape deviation is given in a temperature range between room temperature and about 500 degC 9, preferably between room temperature and 600 degC.
