Mains supply circuit with rectifier and switched output quantities for coupling up to current and voltage, e.g. for gas discharge lamp, has two synchronous phase-locked alternating sources connected to bridge rectifiers wired in parallel.
Two synchronous phase-locked alternating sources (4,5) with the same attributes are connected to bridge rectifiers (2,3) wired in parallel. If a switch (1) opens, the alternating sources connect in parallel; if it closes, diodes (9,10) rectify voltages (U1,U2) in series in an AC half cycle. Voltage on a load (8) goes from single to double rectified voltage and maximum current through the load drops from double to single maximum current value for an alternating source.
