Electronic controller for motor vehicle transfers data from working memory to non-volatile memory on detecting switch-off or interruption of external electrical supply to controller
The controller has a control unit (2) for controlling a device in the vehicle, memory device with working and non-volatile (3,4) memories, a temporary energy storage device (8) and a detector (7) for detecting interruption or switch-off of the external electrical supply to the controller. On detecting switch-off or interruption the detector signals to the control unit, which transfers data from the working memory to the non-volatile memory. Independent claims are also included for the following: a data security technique for an electronic controller for a motor vehicle.
