Customer-specific data are input and stored in a design tool knowledge base to offer a set of configuration versions to choose from. After a configuration version has been selected by a user based on the default data, component configuration follows. Customer standards and security factors are then determined to obtain calculation parameters that are valid for process control design. All the layout and constructional values are then computed using the obtained parameters, after which the resulting data are stored for future use.
