The method involves assembling a transport rail at the construction site using a railway construction train (1) with a track boom. Materials for construction the line and embankment are delivered from material carriages (9) over the transport rail, and the transport rail is then disassembled. The construction materials are supplied from the carriages using a conveyor unit (3) to a bunker of a road-finishing machine (10) that is not rail-bound and moves along the rail direction and towards the construction train in working steps. The conveyor unit extends from the railway construction train and temporarily bridges the space between the carriage on the last track section (4a,x) and the road-finishing machine. The working steps are determine in sequence and length from the sequential track sections of the transport rail. An independent claim is included for a device for implementing the method.
