The lamp (1) has at least one light source (2) enclosed by a tubular transparent sleeve (10), provided on its inside with a number of refractive elements (13), e.g. refractive granules, packed around the outside of the light source, so that the emitted light is diffracted. The transparent sleeve may have end sections of constant diameter and a section enclosing the light source which is curved outwards for accommodating the refractive elements.
