Fuel cell system, e.g. for mobile use in fuel cell vehicles, has combined heat exchanger-oxygen separator unit in which oxygen separator unit is in thermal contact with product flow path
The system has at least one fuel cell, a reactor system for generating a gas containing hydrogen by converting a hydrocarbon or derivative material and an oxygen separator unit that produces an oxygen-rich gas from an input gas. A product flow heat exchanger in the reactor system and the oxygen separator unit form a combined heat exchanger-oxygen separator unit in which the oxygen separator unit is in thermal contact with the product flow path. The system has at least one fuel cell (1), a reactor system on the anode side for generating a gas containing hydrogen by converting a hydrocarbon or derivative operating material and an oxygen separator unit (10) on the cathode side that produces an oxygen-rich gas from an input gas containing oxygen. A product flow heat exchanger in the reactor system and the oxygen separator unit form a combined heat exchanger-oxygen separator unit in which the oxygen separator unit is in thermal contact with the product flow path (7a).
