Starting method for direct fuel injection diesel engine has fuel only injected into engine cylinders of selected engine cylinder group during initial phase before injection of fuel in all engine cylinders
The engine starting method has a first phase in which fuel is injected into the engine cylinders of a selected engine cylinder group, while no fuel is injected into the engine cylinders of the remaining engine cylinder groups and a second phase in which fuel is injected into the engine cylinders of the remaining engine cylinder groups and not the engine cylinders of the first engine cylinder group, or the engine cylinders of all engine cylinder groups. Also included are Independent claims for the following: (a) a control element for an engine control device; (b) a control device for a direct fuel injection diesel engine; and (c) a direct fuel injection diesel engine.
