A wire or strip is made of a superconductor consisting of individual atoms of a material lying to the left of periodic table that conducts a current at normal surroundings temperature inserted into molecules of a material lying to the right of periodic table that is non-conducting at normal surroundings temperature, so that the metal atoms form axis-parallel atom chains over the whole wire length. Each metal atom lying next to and over each other in all directions is fixed by the molecule chain by external cooling of the molecules to prevent movement. An Independent claim is also included for a process for the production of the superconducting wire.
