Die casting process, especially for gravity or low pressure die casting of aluminum parts, comprises casting a part in one die during cast part solidification in a die removed from the casting machine
A die casting process comprises casting a part in one die (2) during cast part solidification in one or more further dies (2) outside the casting machine (1). Cast parts are produced by casting a part in a first die (2) in a casting machine (1), removing the first die (2) from the casting machine (1), casting another part in a further die (2) during solidification of the cast part in the first die (2), returning the first die (2) to the casting machine (1) and, after die opening, cast part removal and die cleaning operations, casting the next part in the first die. An Independent claim is also included for equipment for carrying out the above process.
