The sorting device is for learning by play by young children and has component pieces (30) for sorting together with sorting panel (20) divided into fields. Each component piece is applicable by a code to one of the fields. With the correct application of the component pieces onto the fields, they form in the entirety a control pattern. The code consists of a half (31) indicated on each component piece and a second half (21) on each of the fields. The control pattern is a control picture composed of sections (32) indicated on the component pieces.
