PURPOSE: An error correcting device of a focal plane thermal phase detector is provided to control temperature by using an infrared radiating element, and to correct error on temperatures of multiple steps. CONSTITUTION: An error correcting apparatus is composed of a first lens projecting target image; an infrared radiating and diffused reflection lens part(34) radiating infrared rays corresponding to a radiating control signal, and generating a diffused reflected signal; a second lens(32) responding to the control signal and projecting the signals from the first lens and the infrared radiating and diffused reflection lens part; and an error correcting part(42) responding to the control signal by an m*n pixel detector and controlling keeping the same level of the temperature detecting signals from m*n pixel detectors to correct error. The focal plane thermal phase detecting apparatus detects the temperature of a signal from the second lens and outputs the temperature detecting signal. The temperature is controlled simply to generate the reference temperature by the infrared radiating and diffused reflection lens part. The error of the focal plane thermal phase detector is corrected accurately with generating the reference temperature in multiple steps.
