PURPOSE: A quantization method of a motion vector and a method for constructing a motion vector histogram quantized by the quantization method are provided to display a size component, a direction component simultaneously and to dull with respect to a tiny motion difference by quantizing a motion vector according to the same size and direction and not quantizing for considering a direction with respect to a motion vector having a tiny size regardless of a direction. CONSTITUTION: The most inner circle being displayed as '0' is a portion having no motion or having a detailed motion being considered as no motion. In addition, indexes of 12-23 are embodied on a circle portion being indexed according to their sizes. Indexing stages according to direction are twelve, and thus a difference of a quantized motion vector of a motion of the same direction is a multiple of twelve. The portion indicates a size and the remainder indicates a direction in dividing '12'. The size of a motion vector is inferred from the number because a higher number is embodied at a higher radius.
