PURPOSE: A toxicity bioassay device using bacterial bioluminescence of photogenicbacterium sp. is provided which measures only variety of bioluminescence. And a method for bioassaying toxicity is also provided. CONSTITUTION: A toxicity bioassay device includes a first container (11) where a sample including photogenic bacteria and toxic substances are put; a second container (13) where only photogenic bacteria are added for comparison; a first bioluminescence receiver (15) to measure the amount of bioluminescence from the first container (11); a second bioluminescence receiver (17) to measure the amount of bioluminescence from the second container (13); and an operational amplifier (19) to amplify difference in bioluminescence between the bioluminescence light receiver (15) and the second bioluminescence receiver (17).
