PURPOSE: A device for testing a distant operation performance of a pre-amplifier in a TV set and a control method thereof are provided so that a light receiving property of the TV set for a remote controller can be improved by measuring performance of the remote controller by distance, and by testing the distant performance of the pre-amplifier in a close distance by using the resultant value. CONSTITUTION: A pallet(110) transfers a TV set(100) through a conveyer belt. A conductive unit(120) applies power to the TV set(100). A current sensing unit(130) senses a current applied to the TV set(100). A set sensing unit(140) senses a set-in of the TV set(100). An attenuation signal output unit(170) receives an attenuation data and a power-on signal, and outputs an attenuation remote controller signal. An interface unit(150) interfaces data input/output of the conductive unit(120), current sensing unit(130), set sensing unit(140) and attenuation signal output unit(170). When the set-in of the TV set(100) is sensed, a main PC(160) outputs a remote controller reduction amount according to the stored distance, and tests a distant performance of the TV set(100) according to the attenuation remote controller signal. The TV set(100) includes a power unit(101) for supplying power, and a pre-amplifier(102) for controlling the operation of the power unit(10). As a result, a receiving light property of the TV set for the remote controller can be improved, and an inferiority rate thereof can be reduced.
