METHOD FOR MEASURING PARTIAL DISCHARGES IN DIRECT-BURIED POWER CABLESABSTRACTA method fox measuring partial discharges in direct-buried power cables, themethod being applicable even when the sheath-interrupted joints are directlyburied. Direct-buried power cables 1 and 2 are jointed with a sheath- interrupted joint 3, to which lead wires 9 and 10 are connected. The other ends of the lead wires are led to the surface of the ground. A detector 40 is connectedto the lead wires to detect the high-frequency components produced by partialdischarges.Figure 1
