Use of compounds that activate 5-HT2C receptors and block 5-HT2A receptors to prepare oral medicaments for treating symptoms caused by estrogen depletion, especially hot flushes and sweating attacks
Compounds (I) that activate 5-HT2C receptors, block 5-HT2A receptors and have an intrinsic action on postsynaptic 5-HT2A receptors are used to prepare oral medicaments for treating symptoms caused by estrogen depletion resulting from menopause-associated reduced ovarian function, ovariectomy or the administration of drugs that lower plasma estrogen levels or block estrogen receptors.
